Is this Goodbye Sam?
According to Steve Bates in the Sunday People, Sam says he will play hardball over his next West Ham contract when he speaks to the club owners at the end of the season, he says although he wants to carry on as the club moves towards their new home at the O/S he will only do so under his own terms. Oh well Goodbye Sam.

Does not matter how much money you throw at the team. With BFS in charge we will only play one dimensional football.
He has taken us as far as he can, he does not have the capacity to change.
Surely all Irons can see that this season with the improvement in the squad last summer.
He has done exactly what is on the tin. Now get rid before things get even more stagnant.
Onwards and Upwards.

He's a blatant KUMBer. He's probably been banned due to his amazing capacity of being able to bore even those piss stained, rich tea biscuit munching bland farts.

The reason I don't address your adolescent comments Rodent, is because you're so far up the fat cunt's arse you can't see reason for his shit in your eyes.

And you're a spotty little weirdo adolescent geeky-cunt.

Hopefully when we move we can match Newcastles spending power and try to emulate them.

Just read your post and that is exactly where I am coming from. It is just a shame some people can't see that.

All I want is a path to success for West Ham with no drama or instability. I appreciate that path is a little bumpy at the moment but I honestly think we going along ok with Allardyce and that as long as he turns it around and we finish well and improve slightly on last year then he deserves another season or two. I know he isn't the most likeable Manager and style isn't always easy on the eye, but in the grand scheme of things he has done well. If he gets some more backing in the summer then there is no reason why we shouldn't go in to the new stadium as a top 7 or 8 team. At that point we can then talk about Europe and top 6 etc as our spending power will be hopefully much higher and we can be more competitive with the bigger teams. Until then I think patience and cool heads are needed.

Re: Is this Goodbye Sam?
Russ,

I think we bought terrifically well in the summer and quite rightly with the investment made should expect and hope for an improved season in terms of style and final league position.

All I am saying is that all of those players, including Kouyate were not going to be snapped up by the Chelsea, Man City, Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool & Spurs. And all of those teams have spent millions more than us on transfers or wages. So we are not (at least for a 2-4 years) going to compete or get into that pack.

So apart from the current poor spell, Allardyce or anyone else isn't really going to do much better than he is. I agree that we should be looking up rather than down so anywhere between 7th - 9th is a brilliant season because it would be an improvement on last year and as I've said we are not going to hit top 6 because no matter what we spend, the elite 6 teams will always spend more and can attract better and proven players.

I don't see why you think I'm talking bollox? I am just saying it as it is. I just hope we have a strong finish to the season and go again in the summer with improved signings. The better players you get then the style will be better on the eye.

You misunderstand.

I am not ripping the arse out of Rodent for not being realistic. I am not someone who wants 'more more more' and demands trophies. I am a West Ham for fuck sake.

I have defended Rodent on other threads because of his balanced views.

My point is his comment about crumbs and problem signings. After last summer how any West Ham fan can slag off our transfers is beyond me. Such negative comments are such great signings. Just so pessimistic.

"Russ, not the crumbs of any club but no one team in the top 6 would have wanted those players last summer otherwise they wouldn't be here."

But we aren't a top 6 club you plank.

You don't make sense. You stated we get crumbs of players or problem players. Which is utter bollocks. Now you say we do have players the top six clubs want. Make your mind up.

Then you say we weren't competing with top 6 clubs last year. So are you saying we are now? Fromw hat i can see w are miles off competing for top six at the moment.

Seems to me you are just a moaner and adapt your arguement to suit.

And i didn't say you aren't getting all excited and knicker wetting. Just that your pessimistic.

And you can also add Kouyate to that list of people you reckon is a crumb or a problem. Another signing that makes your comment out to be complete bollocks.

Re: Is this Goodbye Sam?
Russ I think Glen dines out on the FACT West Ham has been badly invested in for the vast majority of it's history. The historically successful clubs success has coincided with excellent and consistent team investment to the point where they don't always have to spend vast amounts to get in the right additions.

This ownership is the first most of us if not all have experienced with an actual building plan, Glen sees this and therefore doesn't feel the need to be a whiner unlike many on this thread.

You want to rip the arse out of someone for managing to still hold it together and not go hysterical like the rest of you then that just about sums up modern football and it's "why not us" "I want it now for all the pain I've indured" culture.

Instead of getting 35000 at UP I don't understand the difference getting 35000 at a worse stadium to watch football in will make

My expectations definitely change when we move to the new stadium.

I expect to not enjoy watching football in an athletics stadium.

Re: Is this Goodbye Sam?
Hang on russ, I'm the one who isn't moaning. It is the likes of you that want more and are moaning at manager etc. I'm the last one to be moaning. I just don't get carried away with unrealistic demands. I think we have done brilliantly from relegation until now in such a short space of time. The only think I would say is that he needs to turn this bad spell around quickly and f he finishes top 8 or 9 then it's another good season. You then hope for a little better next year until we move stadium and then expectations can be reviewed again.

Glenn Rodent 9:24 Wed Mar 4
Re: Is this Goodbye Sam?
Russ, not the crumbs of any club but no one team in the top 6 would have wanted those players last summer otherwise they wouldn't be here. The only one you could argue is Song but he chose london as a location not us. Of course Valencia, Cresswell etc are now attracting attention from chelsea and City but last summer we got them because we weren't competing with top 6 premier league clubs.

Glenn Rodent 9:18 Wed Mar 4
Re: Is this Goodbye Sam?
But he has changed the style an I wouldn't want him manager for 5 years, but I don't see the logic in letting him go now. Id keep him for two more seasons and then review. But that is on the basis he turns it around result wise in the next 6 games with at least good performances tonight and against arsenal.

After8, but it does stack up. Other than Swansea everyone else above us have spent more or have higher wage bills than us and bigger transfer kitty's. So I'm afraid 99% of the time teams will always finish in that pattern of league finish. If you think he is Doug a bad job because we aren't in the top 4th-6th then you are deluded. The pattern is emerging as we come to the business end. Southampton will fall short and we will fight it out with them, Swansea and another 3 teams for 7th. So 7th is the best possible position he is likely to achieve as in a brilliant season. So 7th-10th is hardly failure. Of course Id love us to be in Europe. But it takes time to build a squad. He has had only 3 seasons in the league and we were flirting with that top elite and should finish top 9. So hardly failure. Reality check needed here.

Oh ok. So Sakho, Valencia, Cresswell, Jarvis, Reid, Collins, Adrian were all crumbs that other clubs didn't want?

I assume you must think that because they aren't problem players.

You talk out your arse. You are one of those West Ham supporters that eats out on our past failures and negatives. You must be great fun for all the Chelsea and Spurs fans out socially when you moan and groan and they lap it up. You are exactly the type of supporter the club doesn't need. Constantly stuck in a rut of pessimism and negativity.

Rodent - So if we're going to tread water in mid table for the next five seasons, doesn't style of play and an attacking outlook become even MORE important?

Re: Is this Goodbye Sam?
"just your expectations are too high when you had to consider everyone else above us other than Swansea have all spent more or have much higher wage bills."

We have one if the highest net spends on the league. That excuse doesn't stand up to the reality.
